Traffic Safety meeting notes
Maura Carroll and I attended the RPD Traffic Safety meeting last week. We met with Captain Danielle Willsey and Highway Superintendent, Mike Zelski. They have been monitoring the traffic on Pier Avenue all summer. Their study does not show the need for a stop sign but they will submit the data to New York State to request a lower speed limit of 30mph. They also agreed to continue to send out traffic patrols and random speed checks. I'm not sure what else we can do as concerned citizens other than to report any blatant violators if we can document it.
We know that the RPD does respond well to calls for help.
Stay safe out there. Northville Beach is still a wonderful place to live.
