Mike's North Fork Moment of the Month

For me, as a photographer and also a resident of Northville Beach, the fields along the east side of Penny’s Road are the gifts that keep on giving. Not only do I enjoy the view of them as I come and go but also because they've been the subject of some of my favorite photos that I’ve taken of the North Fork. (In particular it’s where I shot the “Potato Truck” image (https://www.northvillebeachcivic.org/post/mike-s-north-fork-moment-of-the-month), my most popular photograph.)

Several times over the years I discovered that what I thought was just a cover crop was also hay for harvesting. In this photo, taken in late August a few years ago, I was fortunate to find a tractor with a trailer filled with just-harvested hay bales. It was early evening; the workers were gone for the day and the light was beautiful.
