Mike's North Fork Moment of the Month

One of the most charming aspects of the North Fork is the collection of agricultural artifacts along our roadways. Fortunately for us there are still many older barns, pump houses, trucks, and tractors around – some that are in various stages of picturesque decay.

The actual purpose (current or past) of the Baiting Hollow Windmill is a mystery to me but regardless of its use the blades must certainly have been added as a bit of whimsy. For years I’ve noticed photographers and painters on the front lawn doing their best to capture the charm of it - as I’ve attempted more than a couple of times. On this occasion (15 years ago when we used to get snow!) the wreath and holiday lights in combination with the Winter landscape created the perfect North Fork Christmas card scene.
