Mike's North Fork Moment of the Month

One of the great things about living in this part of the country is experiencing the change of seasons. This change is amplified on the North Fork thanks to our farmers and their fields that we drive by every day. From asparagus in early Spring to corn on the Fourth of July to the most flavorful tomatoes you’ve ever tasted in August, you can almost mark your calendar by what’s at the farm stands. By October the melancholy of ever-earlier sunsets and chilly evenings is offset by final harvests of those delicious tomatoes supplemented by bounties of broccoli, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts.

“Tomato Harvest" was taken at the end of September a few years ago on Reeves Avenue - the heart of Riverhead’s farm belt and one of my favorite roads to drive down with my camera.
