Thank you friends!

Hoping everyone is surviving the storm well.  I am writing to let all our extremely generous NBCA neighbors know how well the Holiday Drive went this past season.

Using Amazon wish lists provided by the agencies made our shopping so much easier.  Many, many financial donations came in, allowing us to “brighten up” the staff gift cards. All known wishes were able to be met.

A team of wrappers met at my house and prepared two lovely packages for each resident of the homes and two day-program attendees. Thanks to new NBCA members Al and Herman for making the day work out. (And special thanks to those that delivered the gifts to my house already beautifully wrapped.) We delivered all the gifts to appreciative staff and residents.

Freshly prepared Christmas Eve dinners were provided by neighbors Jonathan and Rene at the Cooperage Inn for staff and residents at both homes.  These were received with much enthusiasm when delivered by Cindy and Nancy and Jim B.

We made a nice donation to Johanna’s Hope and look forward to watching their program and gardens grow and to continuing to visit Jo on her farm.

Thanks to the kind spirit of our Northville neighbors, we have some funds remaining.  In the Spring, we will work with each agency (RISE, East End Disabilities and Johanna’s Hope) to see if we can meet some additional needs.  Several NBCA neighbors have expressed concern about the overall problem of food insecurity and suggested a donation to a food bank or such.  We have noted that RISE has a food pantry in which the participants can work, we will research this as one option.

Any questions or concerns please write directly to nanwink@aol.com

Thanks Northville!   We did a great job!

Your friend,   Nancy Winkler
