Supervisor Jerry Halpin presided over the Town of Riverhead meeting with multiple Civics in the Town. Linda Prizer and Nancy Beckmann were there representing Northville Beach.
Supervisor Halpin opened the meeting with the 2026 agenda for the Town. His priorities are to attract new businesses and yet protect our farmlands and waterways.
The Town is planning a celebration on July 4. A parade, invitations to build and participate with your own float, fireworks and sponsorships to promote your business or organization. They are also offering garden flags available specifically for each Civic.
The hope is to promote downtown and get the word out to shop and dine locally.
More details can be found on the Town of Riverhead website. https://www.townofriverheadny.gov/456/Riverhead-America-250

Each representative was asked to discuss an outstanding issue as well as a win for their community in recent months.
Northville Beach continues to be concerned with construction permits and land being sold off for commercial purposes.
We brought up the pipeline scheduled to run along Sound Avenue into Southold. Supervisor Halpin stated that it was not a Town decision. It was decided by the state and there is nothing we can do.
We are still working with the Police Department to monitor Pier Avenue for speed. We hope to have more information later this spring.
Please continue to post your questions or issues on the NBCA website. www.Northvillebeachcivic.org.
