Pier Avenue traffic saga continues

While it doesn’t look like we will get a stop sign anytime soon, I do see an increase in RPD and Traffic Control cars on Pier Ave. I explained to the office of the chief of police that when the patrols are present, the speed of traffic slows. However, we can tell when they are not here. Cars and motorcycles speed to the beach and a few minutes later right back toward Sound Ave or possibly turning onto Sound Shore which is even more dangerous. There is a Trafic Safety meeting on August 27 at 8:30am. I plan to attend and invite anyone else to join me. (Thank you, John C). I also welcome suggestions for other solutions. More signage for 35mph, drive like your family lives here, this is a neighborhood not a racetrack, blind hill ahead?

We could request a new speed limit of 30mph. Please let me know what you think. If you can’t respond to this blog, you can email me at nancyb2006@verizon.net. I look forward to hearing from you.

Your neighbor,

Nancy Beckmann
