Mike's North Fork Moment of the Month

There’s a lot to love about September on the North Fork: A bounty of local produce at the farm stands, warm days with cool nights, and a reduction in weekday traffic on local roads being just a few. And of course, sunflowers. Nothing says late summer quite like the stop-in-your-tracks sight of a sunflower field off the side of the road. The big and bright flowers almost demand that you stop and buy a bunch, and of course - for those with any inclination - take a picture or two.

I shot this one a few years ago right down the street in the field across from the end of Pier Avenue.
