Like many neighbors in Northville Beach I have a love/hate relationship with our deer population. On the one hand they make driving hazardous, devour our landscaping, and leave piles of poop in our yards. On the other hand they are pretty to look at and interesting to watch. (And who can look askance at a newborn fawn its mother tucked away for safety in our garden?)
And they can be photogenic. On this particular day a few years ago (when we used to get snow) a doe in our backyard struck a perfect pose just long enough for me to get this shot. Proving also that you don’t necessarily have to go very far to find a compelling photo.
