Mike's North Fork Moment of the Month

October is a particularly beautiful month on the North Fork. While the verdancy of Summer has passed in its place are the first tinges of Fall color. No bright reds and yellows on the trees yet, but the muted tones of Autumn are beginning to emerge in the farm fields around us. October also brings drier air which is ideal for taking pictures.

“Three Barns” is another of my earlier photos (and inventively titled if I say so myself!). We’ve all passed this vista many times on our way downtown or to Home Depot. On one of those trips I was struck by the dramatic sky and the light on the barns and withering corn stalks. So I pulled over (as I often do) to capture the moment with my camera.

It’s also one of the photos in the NBCA 2024 calendar that will be going on sale very soon on this website to help raise money for the scholarship fund.
