This post is for history buffs who would like to see Riverhead's history preserved through photographs. The Riverhead Library has a project underway seeking old photographs of Riverhead families. I have provided my trove of photos about the Conklin family reaching back to the early 1900's and I know our neighbor Kurt, whose cottage is the second in from the Iron Pier, has done the same. In fact, here is an old photo from about 1925 of my mother with Kurt's cottage in the background.

And here is a photo of the display Michael put together using my photos that is now on view at the library. He is most enthusiastic and it was fun to work with him. I know would welcome additional submissions.
Love these photos sharing the special history of this area! I have a few here at Dad's that could be scanned. There are more at his Mass residence. Thank you for sharing these treasures...and I read that display at the library. Just wonderful!!
