Happy Spring to all! A couple of updates on Town government. First, the Agritourism zoning change that would allow resorts on the Sound has been put on hold owing to concerns of the farm bureau.


Second, the Comprehensive Plan Update is approaching completion. It's been in the works for about 5 years but we now have a final draft as well as a draft Generic Environmental Impact Study. There will be a public hearing on May 20th at Town Hall at 6:00 pm. You can read the draft plan and the draft environmental impact study here:



And here is a Riverhead Local story with information about the upcoming hearing which is the community 's opportunity to weigh in on the plan and the environmental impact statement.
