If you were at the annual meeting you heard Kelly McClinchey speak about the development plans for EPCAL. This project is currently pending before the Riverhead Industrial Development Agency (IDA) where the developer is seeking tax breaks. It's actually more complicated than that but it is possible the deal can be stopped if the IDA turns the developer down.

There is an IDA meeting on Monday July 17th at 5:00 pm at Town Hall. Various communities are urging folks to attend so the IDA will know they are being watched. Unfortunately the IDA does not allow comments from the public and it is possible the EPCAL project may not even be a part of their discussion. They are an opaque entity with an important job. The idea again is to let them know people are paying attention. So if you are so inclined, this is an opportunity to be seen!
